WISCONSIN VOTERS TO OBAMACARE: WE STILL DON’T LIKE IT OR THE CANDIDATES THAT SUPPORT IT
Independent Women's Voice Congratulates Senator Ron Johnson on Reelection Victory

Washington, DC) – Responding to Senator Ron Johnson's victory in the race for U.S. Senate Independent Women’s Voice (IWV) President and CEO Heather Higgins tonight issued the following statement:

“Five weeks ago, Bill Clinton said ObamaCare is ‘the craziest thing in the world’ and voters must agree.

“We’re pleased that Senator Ron Johnson signed IWV’s ObamaCare Repeal Pledge to show his commitment to overturning this monstrosity, and we’re thrilled to congratulate Johnson on his reelection victory in Wisconsin.

“Those who said ObamaCare no longer matters to voters are self-deluded. The more people experience its negative effects the more they dislike it—and rightly so.

“Independent Women’s Forum (IWF), IWV’s sister organization, launched multiple health care issue education initiatives in Wisconsin before voters headed to the polls. These included critical information on ObamaCare so Wisconsin citizens could make a more informed decision on the issue. Independent Women’s Voice also alerted the public that Senator Johnson had pledged to repeal the noxious law.

“We’re glad to see that IWF and IWV’s efforts to inform the American people about the health care law and which candidate is serious about repealing and reforming it were successful in expanding the population that recognizes how ObamaCare is increasingly harmful, costly and counterproductive

“ObamaCare has never been popular with the American people—whether in polls or at the ballot box. The ObamaCare Repeal Pledge was created as a trusted shorthand for candidates to show constituents their commitment to undoing this damaging law and creating a better system that helps all Americans.  The power of this issue and this pledge was seen again tonight in Wisconsin."

IWV advocates not just repeal, but defunding, deauthorizing, and dismantling the misnamed Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. This victory moves us one step closer to better health care in this country.  Congratulations to Senator Johnson!
