Carrie L. Lukas

Vice President of Policy and Economics

 

Carrie L. Lukas is an IWV's Vice President for Policy and Economics. Lukas is the author of The Politically Incorrect Guide to Women, Sex, and Feminism, which was published by Regnery Publishing in May 2006. She is also a contributor to National Review Online and a senior fellow at the Goldwater Institute.

Lukas appears frequently on television and the radio, on shows such as Fox News Channel’s Your World with Neil Cavuto, Fox Report with Shepard Smith, The O’Reilly Factor, Hannity and Colmes, CNBC’s Kudlow and Company, and MSNBC’s Hardball with Chris Matthews.  Lukas’s commentaries have appeared in numerous newspapers such as The Washington Post, USA Today, The New York Post, Atlanta Journal Constitution, The Arizona Republic, The San Francisco Chronicle, and The Baltimore Sun.

Lukas has testified before the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Social Security.  She has spoken at numerous college campuses and other venues, and written publications such as “Dependency Divas: How the Feminist Big Government Agenda Betrays Women.”

Before joining the Independent Women's Forum in 2003, Lukas worked on Capitol Hill, as the senior domestic policy analyst for the House Republican Policy Committee under the stewardship of Chairman Christopher Cox, and then as professional staff for the House Select Committee on Homeland Security of the U.S. House of Representatives. Lukas also has worked at the Cato Institute as a Social Security policy analyst.

Lukas holds a bachelor of arts from Princeton University and a master’s in public policy from Harvard University.
